Since Lainie came home in May of 2007 we have been burdened by the plight of orphans around the world. Latest estimates indicate there are 187 million orphans in the world. As of this week - there will be one less.
We have begun the paperwork to adopt another child from China! Just last week we received our new daughter's file. Yang Miao - we will call her Mia - should be with our family by the end of the year. She is six years old. China has new regulations about revealing too much information about her publically - so you'll have to wait for pics and more info. You can however, begin to pray, pray, pray. Mia's story begins with a huge leap of faith for us. We are already amazed by how God has worked in our lives and we take each new step of this journey holding on to The One who calls us to "walk by faith, not by sight."
Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined myself as the mother of 5 children! Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that two of my children would be brought into our family through adoption. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined how happy and blessed I would be....
Stay tuned......

You are amazing!
Congrats on the new addition and kudos to you for the method you're using to add to your family. I'm sure both parties will feel like they are the most blessed by the arrangement. Funny how that works, huh?
You and your family are truly amazing and blessed...I'll continue to pray for you all...

When I read this, all I could think about was how Lainie whose eyes hers were like...well, now she will have someone in her family with the same beautiful eyes. I love you guys...Amy Barbee
I opened your blog last night from my blackberry and just couldn't type the right words from that little phone. "I'm" blessed to be a part of your lives. This is such exciting news...you will all be in my prayers. I couldn't help but think of this bible verse when I read your blog...""Then he said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all--he is the greatest." Luke 9:48 Mia has so much to look forward to; what a wonderful, loving family she is coming home to.
YEAH! God's blessing your faithfulness and we are blessed to watch!
