Here it is......

Alright, alright, after much begging and pleading from friends and family, we finally set up a blog. I don't know how much time we'll have to keep it updated, but at least this should appease everyone for now :)

Here's the latest......

In November, we saw Lainie's picture for the first time on our adoption agency's website for special needs babies in China. (Our agency is Christian World Adoption). We had already sent our complete dossier and were waiting for the regular process, but when we saw her picture we knew she was ours. That was on a Thursday. Over that weekend God sent us so many confirmations that she was the daughter he had chosen for us. On Monday we called and started the necessary paperwork to adopt Chen Xiang Yi. Her special need is VSD (a hole in her heart). She will be a year old on February 23, 2007. She currently resides at the Chenzhou Children's Welfare Institute (orphanage) in the Hunan province of China. If all goes as planned we should receive our travel approval (TA) from Chinese adoption officials in April and we should travel in May. We will be in China for two weeks. Lainie should join us on about the third day of the trip. We will spend the rest of the time sightseeing and completing necessary paperwork. Right now plans are for Bobby's mother, Jackie, to travel with us. We are very excited about that ! So, that is it for now. We are holding our breath waiting to hear that we can officially come and get her ! We started the adoption process in December of 2005. It has been a journey that has grown our faith tremendously. Our kids, Trey, Jillian and Will are thrilled to finally be this close to meeting their new little sister. Little Lainie has no idea what lies in store for her. Please join us in diligently praying that God will keep her safe and sound until she becomes part of our wild and crazy Barbee Bunch!

Jennifer and family,
Ian and I will pray for Lanie's health and your sanity as you wait to go be united with her! We've been home less than a week with Kylie and I can tell you that God is AMAZING in His selection of our family!

Hey Barbee Bunch, I can't wait to see Laninie in person. She looks absolutely adorable. You know if she's going to be a Barbee that you all will have to teach her to sing!!! Her Paw Paw Barbee has some singing lessons to give her when she get's here.

You guys are in my prayers!

Bobby & Jennifer,
What a journey this has been so far! We continue to pray for you and Lanie's protection and safety during this waiting period. I cant wait for the day that we both have our girls home. Then we can meet for coffee to watch them play together instead of discuss this very long process! In His timing..right?!
Love you~
